Dhamma Padaya – Yamaka Waggaya
If someone learns a lot about the Dharma but does not act accordingly and instead shares only their knowledge with others without any awareness, they are wasting the precious human life they have obtained. In this rare human life, they will not be able to reap the benefits of following the path, such as attaining ‘Sowan’ (The first step of the fruit path). In fact, they will be ruining their precious opportunity as human beings.
One who understands even at least a tiny part of Dharma correctly and wisely and practices according to that Dharma renounces attachments to his body or mind as ‘I-my-my-soul’.
If one cleanses his mind by removing greed, hatred and delusions, he will not sorrow in this world or the hereafter.
He becomes an element of the fruit path (‘Nirwana’).
