Dhamma Padaya – Thrushna Waggaya

Lust grows in a man who acts ignorantly the same as a ‘Maluwa’ vine wraps around a tree. (If this vine wraps around a tree, it will destroy that tree.)
Such a person goes to be born in various realms like a monkey who jumps from branch to branch.

Because that person is greedily attached to the things with nature that emerge and disappear, sorrow grows in him as the Savanna plants grow in bushes during the rainy season.

So, if a person is able to overcome the craving which causes clinging to objects of a destructive nature, which is difficult to overcome, sorrow is removed from him, like water does not stay on a lotus leaf.

Therefore, for your benefit, I will say to you who have gathered here for a while, get rid of greed first.
Don’t let the ‘Mara’ to break you repeatedly, like bamboo trees sweep away by the water.
