Dhamma Padaya – Dhanda Waggaya

If someone in this world can prevent himself from forming evil thoughts because of the shame of sin, that understanding prevents him from humiliation by disciplining himself like a horse being tamed by a whip.

Similar to how a whip is used to control and discipline a horse, the one who has faith in ‘Sri Saddaharmaya’ practises diligently with the intention of eradicating defilements by being frustrated with worldly things.

He is virtuous with disciplined senses, concentrates the mind, contemplating wisely the thoughts that arise in each moment, behaves wisely with the wisdom he cultivated, and banishes the excessive sufferings that he has been experiencing for a long time.
